Secondary school students learn about Scent at Digital Meet

Rovigo-based Scent partner XTeam presented the project at the Digital Meet conference on Friday 20th October 2017. The event attracted a large student audience and was held in the auditorium of the scientific secondary school Paleocapa in Rovigo, Italy. Scent partners Stefano Tamascelli (CEO and responsible for R&D) and Silvia Brandalesi (European Project Manager) gave a presentation entitled “Usage of new digital technologies to monitor the territory and prevent risk of flooding” (Utilizzo delle nuove tecnologie digitali per monitorare il territorio e prevenire il rischio di inondazione).

The conference was aimed at 4th and 5th year students of the ITIS Viola Marchesini secondary school (specialisation in informatics and chemistry) and representatives of the Agrario Munerati secondary school. Stefano and Silvia presented Scent to more than 100 attentive students and teachers. The students heard about Scent for the first time, and they were very interested in the project and asked highly pertinent questions about it and its implications for the region.

The two largest Italian rivers, Po and Adige, cross the local region of Veneto and have a significant impact on the lives of the locals. The area was acutely affected by flooding many years ago, and flooding remains a topic of great interest to the people living of the region.
