Scent at GEO-XIII Plenary in St. Petersburg

Scent joined discussions on global Earth observation initiatives at the 13^th Plenary Session of the Group on Earth Observations – GEO (GEO-XIII) on 7^th – 10^th November, 2016, in St. Petersburg.

Scent participated in the event together with five other projects funded through the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme: AtlantOS, ECOPOTENTIAL, GEO CRADLE, GROUND TRUTH 2.0 and LANDSENSE.

Among the themes discussed during the plenary were global challenges including timely Earth observation data, information for informed decision-making and sustainable development.

The GEO plenary adopted an engagement strategy on how to develop a strategic partnership with governments, public sector agencies, UN bodies, specialised organisations, universities, foundations, development banks and the private sector.
